Imagination~What a Beautiful Thing.

I think as far back I as I can remember I loved to write. I grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains, so there was lots of places to explore between the beaches and the redwood lined trails. I use to grab a tablet of paper finding a sunny meadow and hunker down in the tall grass, sit beside a creek or waterfall, or find some secluded place to write. Sometimes it wasn't story, but poetry, or even just journaling through the years.

A few years back, a good friend knew I was writing adult fiction, but was what you'd call a closet writer. I would write a story and share with her, but that was the extent of it. She convinced me I should share my stories. I will admit, I do not have the best punctuation or grammar skills at times, so I was hesitant. Someone else shared with me, if your story is written well enough people aren't going to knock you for it. So, I began sharing my stories and to my surprise got really positive feed back.

Another year down the road my hubby told me to offer them to a bigger market. So, for fun I set up an account with a self-publishing company called Lulu. The first time I sold a story I was ecstatic! Since, that time I have sold almost 300 short stories, and now Itunes and Barnes & Noble is offering three of my books for quick download.

I still don't consider myself an author, but someone who enjoys exploiting her fantasies and imagination on a blank page. I want to thank all those who have purchased my stories, I still get very excited when the e-mail posts that I've sold a copy.

This last year, I didn't write as much as I would have liked to. Luke has been away and my duties have doubled. My writing mojo has been lacking a little, but I hope it comes back in full force. I am working on a few stories at the moment, and hope to take part more in Flash Fiction Friday this coming year.  I just redid my home page on Lulu making a few changes and discounting a few stories.  Happy New Years Everyone!
